He understands that people need answers and education regarding investments, taxes, and financial planning, but these answers need to be integrated with the needs, fears, dreams, and emotions of the client. Scott says the biggest reward for him is watching people achieve their financial goals and independence.
Scott's creative side earned him an associate's degree in graphic and commercial arts. He then attended Oakland University in Rochester, where he studied business and economics and obtained his bachelor's degree. Next, he entered the financial services industry, and he has been helping successful clients for more than 25 years. As an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, Scott is registered to conduct fee-based financial planning in all 50 states.

Scott lives in Romeo, Michigan, with his wife, Lisa, and their two children; They enjoy spending time with their family, attending church and traveling. He also enjoys staying healthy and playing golf.

With more than 12 years of experience in the financial services industry, Tara Llerena brings deep knowledge and a client‑first mindset to her role as a Paraplanner. Having worked in both large institutions and smaller independent firms, Tara has built a well‑rounded understanding of the financial landscape—all with the goal of sharpening her expertise and improving the lives of the clients she serves.
Grounded in an education‑first philosophy, Tara is committed to assisting our advisors in helping clients understand their options so they can make confident decisions. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Personal Financial Planning from the University of South Florida.
Tara’s passion for financial planning stems from her childhood—watching her mother, also a financial advisor, transform clients’ lives through guidance, security, and genuine care. Seeing the meaningful impact her mother made inspired Tara to follow in her footsteps and carry that legacy forward.
Outside the office, Tara and her husband David, a former Navy service member, actively support the veteran community through Mission 22. Together, they are raising their spirited 6‑year‑old daughter, Davina, who keeps them on their toes. The family enjoys playing darts, traveling, visiting museums, exploring nature, and participating in environmental conservation efforts, ensuring Davina grows up with rich and meaningful experiences.
